ClipTouch Server

ClipTouch Server is a lightweight and fast native asset management and curation platform. Organise your clips, audio files, images or documents, from using ClipTouch Server on a single MacBook, to collaborating on a SAN, or deploying a large integrated solution on a dedicated server.

Built on modern UNIX and macOS technologies, its native core outperforms solutions that are written in slower web technologies. Powered by SQLite and Apache 2 it offers a flexible, lightweight, fast and extensible data model as well as asset import and metadata parsing facilities. And it is open to be used via its various API's for your own development.

ClipTouch Server.app is your fast and easy to use client for ClipTouch Server. Written as a native macOS App it offers a user experience that is unmatched by web based interfaces. Road tested by companies like Wingnut Films and Lucasfilm, the native client has served as the asset management and curation interface in the most demanding environments, where multiple windows, copy&paste and drag&drop are a must.

• Webservice API

  Our RESTful JSON webservice allows you to search, view, edit and add assets to ClipTouch Server for your integration tool or custom client, all securely via HTTPS. We utilise these same APIs to create our own Web UI and Adobe Panel.

• Customisable Metadata

  Configure custom fields for any asset type, set fixed restricted values for fields, and customisable length text areas.

• Scan and Import

  Automatically import assets, and scan filesystem paths to pick up new content. ClipTouch Server supports growing files and will automatically parse mxf, mp4, mov, acc, and mp3 file metadata.

• Event Driven Actions

  Trigger a script or command to run whenever an asset metadata field changes. Create your own workflows using popular scripting languages and the ClipTouch Server commandline API.

CTS Web is built into ClipTouch Server and is a standard webinterface to your assets. It allows searching, viewing and editing asset metadata and it supports proxy playback w/ SMPTE timecode.

Written using only Javascript, HTML5 and the ClipTouch Server webservice API, it can also serve as a great starting point for your own custom web based interface on your data.

We also provide an Adobe Premiere panel to support search and drag & drop into your timeline.
